Job Description

Marketing Director leading product marketing, PR, community, events, and Linux marketing for Framework’s repairable consumer electronics. Managing four-person team while shaping launches and customer messaging.

Responsibilities:

  • Own marketing strategy and execution across events, community, product marketing, Linux marketing, PR, and influencer marketing
  • Lead, develop, and support a team of four
  • Define strategy, optimize operational processes, and oversee campaigns and customer communications
  • Own and manage the marketing team’s budget
  • Align marketing and creative teams through launch campaigns and initiatives
  • Partner with the product marketing manager to cover product marketing needs
  • Lead GTM briefings for web, customer experience, and marketing teams
  • Write product messaging and copy, define target audiences, and coordinate cross-functional marketing initiatives
  • Lead media review cycles, including physical unit preparation
  • Partner with hardware product managers, supply chain, and logistics teams to keep customers informed
  • Maintain Framework’s commitment to radical transparency

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing
  • At least 3 years directly managing and developing a team
  • Comfort spending part of the role as an individual contributor
  • Hands-on experience owning physical product marketing end-to-end, including GTM planning, positioning, and messaging
  • Experience ideally in consumer electronics, computer hardware, or another hands-on hardware category
  • Familiarity with hardware DIYers, computer tinkerers, Linux enthusiasts, Linux-based software developers, or AI developers
  • Experience coordinating with hardware product management, supply chain, and logistics teams
  • Ability to set strategic direction for events, community, Linux marketing, PR, and influencer marketing
  • Experience building and managing a marketing budget
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical hardware details into audience-appropriate messaging
  • Willingness to travel roughly once every two months to Framework’s San Francisco office, plus occasional travel for events and photoshoots
