Job Description

Director of Analytics driving analytics strategy for SoLo Funds, an AI-powered community bank. Leading data infrastructure, AI-powered insights, and analytics team development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the analytics strategy and ensure data is transformed into clear, actionable insights driving business decisions across departments
  • Own the full analytics lifecycle, from defining metrics and building scalable reporting infrastructure to championing AI-powered data accessibility
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Growth, Finance, and Operations to translate complex business questions into actionable analytics
  • Present business narratives and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Define and execute the company’s analytics strategy in support of business goals and executive decision-making
  • Oversee the semantic layer and scalable data models using SQL, dbt, and Looker
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and trusted self-service reporting across the organization
  • Lead implementation of AI-powered analytics tools, including conversational analytics and LLMs
  • Manage, mentor, and scale the analytics team
  • Provide technical guidance, prioritization, and professional development
  • Balance long-term strategic projects with fast-paced, high-priority ad hoc analyses

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in analytics, BI, or data science, with a proven track record of leading teams and analytics initiatives
  • Ability to bridge the gap between technical data work and non-technical stakeholders, influencing strategy through data-driven storytelling
  • Advanced SQL and Python proficiency
  • Strong experience with modern data modeling (dbt) and BI platforms (Looker)
  • Practical experience applying generative AI or LLMs within a BI or data context to solve real-world business problems
  • Experience in fintech, a high-growth startup, or a highly regulated industry is preferred
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to balance long-term strategic projects against fast-paced, high-priority ad hoc analyses
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (CS, Math, Economics, Statistics) or equivalent professional experience
