Job Description
Route Sales Representative responsible for selling Smithfield Foods products at local stores. Driving a box truck, stocking products, and providing exceptional service to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for selling and merchandising a line of quality products at local stores
- Drive a Smithfield Foods box truck
- Work Monday through Friday, 50 to 55 hours a week
- Help customers find what they need and deliver service
- Check dates on merchandise and arrange products
- Complete daily paperwork (e.g. DOT logs)
- Prepare sales invoices for orders obtained
- Deliver products to customer and stock retail cases
- Prepare end of day reports of business transactions
- Maintain daily Department of Transportation logs
- Maintain daily truck inventory and perform weekly physical inventory
- Move products throughout the store and remove defective products
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED, required
- Minimum of 6 months experience in route sales, grocery, warehousing, or delivery, required
- A valid Driver's License required
- Valid CDL-B Driver’s License within 90 days of start date
- Federal Regulations require individuals to be 21 years of age
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, verbal, or schedule form
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
