Job Description
Editorial and media professionals auditing AI-generated tasks, files, and grading for Mercor. Reviewing factual accuracy, realism, standards, and score defensibility across editorial specialties.
Responsibilities:
- Audit AI agents' completed work products in the reviewer’s editorial or media specialty
- Review the original task, agent actions, produced files, and AI grader scoresheet
- Assess whether tasks are realistic and relevant to the profession
- Verify domain content, including standards, figures, regulations, constraints, terminology, and factual accuracy
- Review eleven yes/no grading questions and explain disagreements
- Independently band the work and assess whether the reported score is defensible
- Determine whether a practitioner could use or accept the work
- Write a short reason for every judgment
- Spend approximately one hour per item without performing or redoing the underlying task
Requirements:
- 4+ years editing other people's copy to a house style, with responsibility for what was published (Editors)
- 4+ years reporting and filing your own stories, with sourcing you had to stand behind (News Analysts, Reporters and Journalists)
- 4+ years cutting finished pieces on a professional timeline, delivered to a client or a broadcast spec (Film and Video Editors)
- Professional expertise in the applicable editorial or media field
- Near-native business English
- Comfort with spreadsheets or PDFs sufficient to check whether numbers reconcile
- Must be an independent contractor
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
