Job Description

Energy Policy Leader driving Carrier Energy’s utility regulatory strategy and engagement with regulatory bodies. Developing incentive frameworks and building relationships to promote energy solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive dossier summarizing key energy battery incentives for targeted markets.
  • Ensure that Carrier Energy’s pilots and deployments adhere to applicable programs and requirements in line with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross functional Carrier teams to mitigate risks related to compliance and contractual obligations.
  • Build relationships with state agencies and regulatory bodies to validate pilot programs and influence long term programs.
  • Develop in collaboration with Utilities integrated HVAC battery incentives and policies that support Carrier Energy’s solutions, including load flexibility, demand response and VPP programs for the full value of the solution set.
  • Represent Carrier Energy in industry forums, regulatory hearings, and public discussions to influence energy policy decisions in target Utility Territories.
  • Identify and prioritize grants and incentive opportunities that align with Carrier Energy’s business goals.
  • Develop briefing materials and proposals to communicate Carrier’s position on energy policy to state and industry stakeholders.
  • Monitor emerging trends in energy policy and advise internal teams on potential impacts and opportunities.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis of the energy sector, including VPPs, regulatory trends, growth opportunities, and competitive landscapes, to identify strategic opportunities and inform regulatory and policy strategies.
  • Work closely with the Pricing & Offering and Business Development teams to integrate and develop new incentive insights into pricing models and pilot designs.
  • Facilitate alignment between internal stakeholders and external regulatory requirements to streamline project execution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience in energy policy, regulatory affairs, and/or government relations.
  • 5 + years proven success in navigating complex regulatory environments, particularly in energy or utilities sectors.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% domestically.
