Job Description
Engineering Manager leading platform engineering team at A.Team, building core infrastructure for enterprise deployments with a focus on scalability and technical excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Own the roadmap and delivery for Assemble's core platform capabilities
- Build scalable infrastructure including data pipelines, knowledge management, agent orchestration, and enterprise integrations
- Drive architecture decisions that balance immediate delivery needs with long-term platform scalability
- Ensure platform reliability, security, and performance at enterprise scale
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, development practices, and code quality across the organization
- Lead technical design reviews and architecture discussions
- Build an AI-native team—incorporate AI into engineering workflows and practices
- Reduce technical debt while maintaining delivery velocity
- Create documentation and knowledge sharing practices
- Build CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and developer tooling
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of platform engineers
- Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations
- Make hiring decisions and participate in technical interviews
- Build a high-trust, high-performance engineering culture
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in engineering management
- Strong technical background in Python, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and distributed systems
- Experience building platforms, developer tools, or internal infrastructure
- Deep understanding of modern software architecture, CI/CD, and engineering best practices
- Experience establishing and implementing AI best practices
- Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Track record of shipping high-quality software and improving engineering velocity
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across teams
