Job Description

FE Engineering Director leading two engineering teams in Mobile & Web at Moov, a financial services platform. Drive technical direction and oversee product delivery for exceptional payment experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers across Mobile and Web Front End, creating clear accountability structures and growth paths.
  • Own hiring, headcount planning, and org structure for both teams in partnership with Engineering leadership.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, craft, psychological safety, and continuous improvement across your organization.
  • Provide technical direction and strategic oversight for iOS and Android development.
  • Drive the roadmap for Moov’s mobile payment libraries and applications.
  • Setting technical direction for web-based payment experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies across client platforms and establish adoption criteria for your teams.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 4 years in engineering management, including managing managers.
  • Strong technical foundation across client-side platforms, meaningful depth in mobile (iOS and/or Android) and/or modern web (React, TypeScript) with a demonstrated ability to contribute code, not just provide technical direction.
  • Hands-on experience building or integrating payments functionality, including card tokenization, payment flows, fraud signals, or compliance requirements on mobile or web platforms.
  • Demonstrated track record of shipping high-quality consumer or developer-facing products at scale, including hands-on code contributions at the director level or equivalent.
  • Comfort using AI coding tools (e.g., Gemini, Cursor, Claude) as a force multiplier, both personally and in establishing norms for how your teams adopt them responsibly.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical strategy to non-technical stakeholders and influence without direct authority.
  • Experience with agile delivery methodologies and working in cross-functional product organizations.
