Job Description
Data Science Manager leading delivery of data products at Mural. Ensuring models improve retention, conversion, and revenue with a high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
- Own the delivery and evolution of Mural's data products
- Lead the design and delivery of recommendation engines and churn prediction models
- Define model success criteria, track performance across all deployed models
- Hire and develop data scientists, maintaining high expectations
- Work directly with R&D, Finance, and GTM to scope solutions
- Make pragmatic decisions about tooling, architecture, and methodology
Requirements:
- 6+ years building and deploying consumer-facing ML systems
- 2+ years leading or formally managing data scientists or ML engineers
- Strong Python skills; experience with Databricks or comparable ML platforms
- Track record of translating ambiguous business problems into measurable ML solutions
- You know when to ship an MVP to get feedback and when to invest in robustness.
- An outcome-oriented and highly experimental interest in AI-driven development practices.
- Nice to have: Experience with experimentation platforms or causal inference methods
- Background in subscription/SaaS businesses with retention and conversion challenges
- Familiarity with TypeScript or production engineering practices.
