Job Description
Engineering Manager leading the Engagement team at Mural to enhance collaboration features. Responsible for metrics, execution, and nurturing a high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
- Own engagement metrics end-to-end: Establish your team's ownership of key conversion metrics that drive recurring engagement.
- Lead technical execution on high-impact features: Drive improvements to comments/threading, simplify sharing flows, and ensure team isn't blocked.
- Lead and grow a high-performing team: Hiring, retaining, and motivating strong engineers.
- Partner with Product and Design as equals: Collaborate to understand what drives users from solo exploration to team collaboration.
- Set and model high expectations for AI adoption: Model and drive effective adoption of AI tools throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Requirements:
- 5+ years shipping production code, ideally fullstack Node.js/TypeScript.
- 2+ years managing engineering teams of at least 3 ICs.
- Advocate for what's best for the business, own problems end-to-end and lead with accountability.
- Proven ability to edit scope to the smallest shippable increment that provides meaningful feedback.
- An outcome-oriented and highly experimental interest in AI-driven development practices.
- Nice to have: Experience with WebSocket or real-time collaboration systems.
- Background in engagement, retention, or growth-oriented product work.
- Experience with globally distributed teams and async-first collaboration.
