Job Description
Engineering Manager leading a team of engineers optimizing delivery at Primer, a unified payment infrastructure provider. Driving collaboration and continuous improvement in a remote environment.
Responsibilities:
- Leading a growing team of 6-8 engineers split across multiple pods
- Cultivating an environment of continuous learning and collaboration
- Optimising engineering processes and resourcing across the teams to optimise delivery
- Collaborating with engineering leadership in setting team strategy and priorities
- Reviewing technical architecture proposals and ensuring considerations have been made on cost, scalability, performance, resilience, testability, observability and maintainability
- Improving knowledge sharing and collaboration, within and between teams, to remove roadblocks and keep teams performing well
- Taking responsibility for planning, execution and success of complex projects
- Driving a culture of cross-team learning, encouraging the team to present to the wider organisation on key learnings
Requirements:
- Software Engineering background - this role is technically hands-on
- Proven experience managing and developing team of full-stack engineers
- Passion about people, with the ability to inspire, coach and mentor to help people perform at their best
- Happy to dive into the detail - reviewing decisions with the team, bringing new ideas to the table, and challenging the team
- Someone who enjoys talking tech, code reviews, and regularly providing technical feedback to the team
- Ideally knowledge across mobile, frontend and backend in a modern 'you build it, you own it' environment
- A track record of delivery in fast growth environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in remote environments.
