Job Description

Engineering Manager leading a team of software engineers at Kryterion focused on performance, growth, and project delivery. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring complex software initiatives to life.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of software engineers with a focus on performance, growth, engagement, and retention
  • Plan and oversee medium-to-large development initiatives, ensuring work is clearly scoped, prioritized, and delivered on time
  • Set clear goals and expectations while removing obstacles that slow teams down
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and performance conversations centered on feedback, development, and career growth
  • Partner closely with Product, Sales, Customer Support, and other stakeholders to align technical execution with business goals
  • Promote high standards for software quality, reliability, and maintainability
  • Encourage innovation and continuous improvement across products and development processes.

Requirements:

  • 7–10 years of experience in software development, including several years in an engineering management role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to understand and guide SaaS and commercial software development
  • Experience managing engineers working with object-oriented languages and modern web technologies (Java/J2EE required)
  • Proven ability to plan resources, manage priorities, and navigate change in evolving environments
  • Comfort making decisions with incomplete information and balancing competing priorities
  • Clear, thoughtful written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading teams using Agile methodologies such as Scrum or XP
