Job Description

Enterprise Systems Architect guiding SAIC’s federal VA supply-chain systems architecture. Defining DoDAF/UAF models, SAFe Architectural Runway, cloud strategies, and interoperability solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and maintenance of AS-IS and TO-BE Architecture Models using DoDAF and UAF across the HELM Product Line
  • Build and maintain the HELM-wide SAFe Architectural Runway, including shared technical foundations, architectural enablers, integration points, and cross-product capabilities
  • Update the Architectural Runway quarterly before each PI
  • Develop Solution Architecture Packages covering business, systems, application, and data architectures
  • Ensure solution architectures align with VA enterprise strategy, roadmap, and Technical Reference Model
  • Lead architectural assessments to identify reuse opportunities and ensure enterprise and product-line alignment
  • Establish and maintain a HELM Architecture Repository with design patterns, reusable components, solution templates, and interface patterns
  • Provide technical guidance on FHIR, ESB/EAI patterns, API integration, and VA interoperability requirements
  • Support DevSecOps maturity assessments and document compliance gaps and technical readiness
  • Maintain logical, network, and dataflow architecture diagrams, updated each release
  • Ensure ATO compliance is considered in architectural decisions and support A&A artifact development
  • Advise on AWS, Azure, VAEC/Platform One cloud architecture and migration strategies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • 10+ years of enterprise architecture experience in large-scale federal IT programs
  • Demonstrated experience with DoDAF and/or UAF architecture frameworks
  • Proficiency with SAFe Agile framework, including Architectural Runway and PI Planning
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, VAEC) and cloud-native architecture patterns
  • Knowledge of FHIR, ESB/EAI integration frameworks, and API engineering
  • Familiarity with VA TRM, NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5, FedRAMP, and VA Directive 6500
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
  • Must be US-based
  • Certified SAFe Architect (ARCH) preferred
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer in Cloud-Native Applications preferred
  • AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect preferred
  • CISSP preferred
