Job Description
Portfolio Manager governing budgets, business cases, and programs for GE Vernova’s gas power systems architecture team. Driving portfolio prioritization, governance, and financial performance.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage the Systems Architecture Team's budget to the program and initiative level, including engineering hours, Capex, and Opex
- Guide prioritization, funding planning and allocation, and approvals through R&D councils and governance bodies
- Manage resource planning with Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, and other functional partners
- Support budget planning cycles and oversee budget assumptions
- Track programs and initiatives including milestones, budget, risk mitigation, and governance adherence
- Maintain portfolio data in RISE, Wave, and other program management tools
- Schedule and facilitate gate reviews and critical program reviews
- Guide change implementation from programs and initiatives
- Support Product Managers in using the Power Now tool and other operational activities
- Support creation and development of business cases and provide oversight of assumptions, methodology, and quality
- Maintain the business case template and key assumptions, including SIOP volume data
- Partner with Finance to oversee initiative costs and financial reporting
- Maintain dashboards using Wave, RISE, and other tools
- Facilitate Daily Management meetings and support L1 and L2 MOR deep-dive reviews
- Provide TRM oversight and support technology roadmap alignment
- Interpret portfolio KPIs, identify risks, recommend corrective actions, and communicate portfolio status
- Serve as primary contact between the Systems Architecture Team and PM Operations and Engineering Operations
- Communicate portfolio and program information to leadership, engineering, finance, and commercial stakeholders
- Influence stakeholders to adopt consistent processes, governance standards, and prioritization frameworks
- Support the Systems Architecture Team leader with leadership review and strategic planning materials
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, finance, or a related field from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in program management, product management, engineering operations, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-initiative portfolios
- Experience managing budgets, business cases, and financial planning processes, including Capex and Opex management
- Ability to communicate complex program and portfolio information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience influencing stakeholders and driving alignment across cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience leveraging data and program management tools to track performance, identify risks, and generate actionable insights
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and influence peers without direct authority
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
