Job Description
Remote estimator coordinating residential construction estimates, permits, and preconstruction for CB Construction. Supporting remodel, addition, ADU, and custom-home projects from budgeting through handoff.
Responsibilities:
- Review residential construction plans, drawings, and specifications
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop project estimates
- Assist with budgeting for remodels, additions, and custom residential projects
- Coordinate pricing with subcontractors and vendors
- Organize scopes of work and proposal documentation
- Identify missing information, scope gaps, and constructability concerns during plan review
- Prepare basic drafting and design documents for small-project permit submittals to the City of Seattle
- Produce code-compliant residential permit drawings, including additions, remodels, ADUs, and small structural changes
- Assemble permit packages, site plans, floor plans, and elevations
- Coordinate with ownership, designers, and architects on complex or stamped drawings
- Maintain current knowledge of City of Seattle residential permit requirements
- Organize selections, specifications, estimating documentation, project records, and estimating files
- Support scheduling, pre-construction coordination, process improvement, and operational consistency
- Use CoConstruct or similar construction software for project tracking and organization
- Communicate estimate status and project needs to internal teams
- Maintain organized workflows across multiple active projects
- Help ensure projects are build-ready and support execution through handoff
Requirements:
- Experience estimating residential construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans independently
- Strong understanding of residential building methods and sequencing
- Drafting or design capabilities using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Chief Architect, or similar (strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with City of Seattle permit submittal requirements for small residential projects (a plus, not required)
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable working remotely and managing deadlines independently
- Strong communication and follow-through
- Experience with CoConstruct (strongly preferred)
- Experience with takeoff or estimating software (a plus)
