Job Description
Finance Director providing strategic financial leadership in a growing insurtech as it transitions to profitability. Overseeing financial strategies, budget forecasting, and partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the senior financial leader within the Executive Team
- Provide clear, confident financial input into strategic and operational decisions
- Drive financial discipline, cost management, and performance focus across the business
- Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecasting
- Partner with the CEO, Partnerships, and Operations teams
- Provide senior oversight of liquidity, capital structure, and funding options
- Prepare, review, and present financial materials for board meetings
- Maintain a strong working understanding of insurance-specific financial flows
- Provide senior oversight of Bikmo’s tax strategy
- Support the evaluation of potential acquisitions or mergers
Requirements:
- Senior finance leader (Finance Director / CFO / Head of Finance) in growth-stage businesses
- Insurance or regulated financial services experience is desirable
- Experience operating in PE or VC-backed environments
- Strong experience with: Board-level financial leadership
- Strategic financial modelling and scenario planning
- Fundraising and/or debt financing
- Multi-entity and multi-country operations
- Experience with European businesses strongly preferred
- Exposure to tax optimisation, transfer pricing, and VAT considerations is desirable
- German language is desirable but not required
- Fully qualified accountant ( ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent )
- Experience leading finance in a regulated or insurance-related environment is desirable
