Job Description
Finance Manager overseeing finance operations and building processes at a gaming company. Handling audit, compliance, and financial analysis while reporting to the COO.
Responsibilities:
- You’ll be our first dedicated Finance Manager, owning the finance function end-to-end and building it into something that scales.
- You’ll inherit a clean foundation: profitable recurring revenue, an outsourced bookkeeping relationship, a banking partner, and a global subscriber base collecting in multiple currencies.
- You’ll report to the COO and serve as the company’s financial conscience.
- Manage our outsourced bookkeeping relationship and drive a clean, on-time month-end close.
- Approve vendor and contractor payments with appropriate judgment and controls.
- Quarterback our annual audit from kickoff to sign-off.
- Manage our banking and credit facility relationships: cash positioning, covenant compliance, and draw decisions.
- Own multi-jurisdiction sales tax and VAT compliance across 20+ US states and international markets; managing external advisors, filings, and registrations.
- Deliver clear, decision-ready financial analysis to the COO and leadership team.
- Track the metrics that actually matter for a subscription software business: NRR, gross margin, CAC payback, and cohort economics.
- Build the finance processes we’ll need at 100 people before we get there: approval workflows, procurement, controls, and reporting cadences.
Requirements:
- 5–8 years of experience with roots in investment banking, Big 4, or a top-tier FP&A program-and real time owning things in an operating company
- Experience with subscription revenue models and the SaaS metrics that come with them
- You’ve managed or meaningfully contributed to an external audit process
- You can build a 3-statement model in your sleep and a cash flow forecast from a blank page
- Familiarity with indirect tax (sales tax, VAT) and multi-currency revenue environments. You don’t need to be a tax specialist, but you shouldn’t be starting from zero
- Bonus: You’ve worked at a company with 20–100 people and know what it feels like when the systems aren’t built yet.
Benefits:
- Equity participation
- Fully remote, US-based
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
