Job Description

Financial Controller overseeing accounting operations across Canada and Latin America. Ensuring financial accuracy and compliance while managing regional accounting teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all accounting operations for Canada and LATAM
  • Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
  • Review and validate financial statements in compliance with local regulations and corporate standards
  • Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
  • Manage and mentor accounting teams across multiple regions
  • Coordinate workflows, priorities, and deadlines between Canada and LATAM
  • Act as the main point of escalation for accounting-related issues
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and statutory requirements in all regions
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory entities
  • Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, HR, and Executive teams
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes
  • Provide insights to leadership for decision-making and business growth

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent is a strong plus)
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management roles
  • Proven experience managing accounting teams
  • Strong knowledge of multi-country accounting processes
  • Experience working with Canada and/or LATAM accounting frameworks
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems / ERPs
  • Fluent English and Spanish (mandatory)
