Job Description
Fund Accountant managing full-cycle accounting and investor reporting for real estate clients. Collaborating with clients and maintaining GAAP-compliant financial statements in a fully remote environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily accounting tasks, including cash entry and reconciliation, and maintenance of supporting schedules and investor records.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, errors, and complex transactions.
- Prepare capital account reconciliations and complete investor reporting functions.
- Prepare financial statements for a variety of entity types in accordance with US GAAP.
- Prepare waterfall distribution models and capital call notices.
- Coordinate all year-end tax and audit activities for clients.
- Operate as primary point of contact for clients: respond in a solution-oriented manner and resolve queries promptly.
- Identify and propose efficiency improvements for recurring activities or client workflows.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of full cycle accounting experience, in a client-facing environment.
- BS/BA in Accounting, with a strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Demonstrated ability to work through unfamiliar or ambiguous problems independently.
- Proven experience managing multiple clients or engagements simultaneously with competing deadlines.
- Intermediate Excel skills; QuickBooks experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow and improve established processes.
