Job Description
Remote project manager leading switchgear projects for Colonial Electric. Coordinating technical, pricing, customer, and shipping activities from order commitment through completion.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the switchgear project team and ensure projects succeed for clients and Colonial Electric
- Serve as the face to the customer after order commitment
- Coordinate all project-related actions and timelines
- Oversee negotiations and technical personnel creating the Bill of Material (BOM)
- Submit product details for approval
- Enter shipping information into the proprietary Jobtrack software
- Respond to customer inquiries and enter data to keep projects moving
- Read and review switchgear specifications and plans
- Request pricing and lead times from manufacturers and sales representatives
- Produce comprehensive and timely switchgear proposals
- Cost-estimate projects accurately and effectively
- Maximize sales and profitability through marketplace knowledge and competitive pricing
- Follow up with customers on quotes
- Provide value-added service through existing blueprint evaluation
- Review submittal approvals and update quotes
- Review switchgear changes in drawing bulletins/addendums and update quotes
- Seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships
- Collaborate with Sales and management regarding customer status, history, changes, potential, quotations, and strategies
- Input data and communicate with customers and vendors
- Collaborate with the Project Management team throughout the project duration
- Stay current with new product information and emerging technologies
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or similar major
- Ability to work overtime as necessary
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to use computing skills and knowledge to complete required job tasks
- Ability to understand technical product specifications and drawings
- Ability to understand and maintain project accounting
- Attention to detail and ability to match information and place it accurately
- Communication and continuous follow up
