Job Description
General Counsel overseeing legal aspects for CivicPlus including compliance and M&A activities. Managing insurance policies and supporting corporate governance within a dynamic company environment.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on legal aspects encountered by CivicPlus
- Maintain knowledge of Company’s operations and legal documents
- Anticipates and identifies legal issues
- Manage legal considerations for all Company departments
- Support Company M&A objectives
- Provide leadership and oversight of the Company’s Enterprise Risk Management Program
- Advise and lead cross-functional teams
- Manage and maintain the Company’s commercial insurance policies
- Develop and communicate best practices for compliance
- Establish and oversee outside counsel engagements
- Build, develop and oversee the legal department.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Bar membership with good standing in at least one state
- Minimum 5+ years transactional legal experience
- Strong negotiation skills
- Understanding of government business practices
- M&A experience
- Strong commitment to detail and prioritization skills
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, drafting and communication skills
- In-depth understanding of technology, SAAS, and open source licensing and platforms.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
