Job Description
Head of Product leading core hiring-to-invoicing platform journeys at Safeguard Global. Owning product strategy, delivery, customer outcomes, and product-manager development across global teams.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end platform experience across the core client journey, including transitions between platform areas
- Identify failing client experiences and set corrective plans
- Own regulatory and compliance obligations as product requirements, working with legal, tax, and in-country teams
- Translate platform strategy and commercial priorities into a prioritised order of work
- Feed prioritisation into the single roadmap owned by the SVP, Product
- Recommend what to build, defer, or retire and secure leadership agreement
- Build business cases for significant investment, including value, payback, and trade-offs
- Sequence commercial priorities with Directors of Product
- Hold accountability for on-time delivery and quality
- Collaborate with engineering and design leadership from idea shaping through release
- Work with sales, marketing, customer success, finance, and legal to ensure launches are understood, sellable, supportable, and compliant
- Identify and resolve delivery risks and manage dependencies
- Build continuous understanding of customer and internal pain points and opportunities
- Ground product decisions in client insight, usage data, and market evidence
- Raise discovery and validation standards across teams
- Define expected outcomes for investments and own delivered value
- Own platform NPS and adoption for the core journey
- Act as product expert in senior client and prospect conversations and represent the platform externally
- Line manage product managers
- Set expectations, give feedback, and address performance issues
- Coach product managers and develop their capabilities
- Drive AI adoption where it creates the best outcomes
Requirements:
- Eight or more years in product, including at least five leading people
- Proven experience leading product managers in a B2B SaaS or platform business
- Experience owning a multi-team product area end to end, with accountability for delivery and value delivered
- Record of defining expected investment value up front and evidencing what was realised
- Experience building products in a regulated environment
- Technical depth to discuss architecture, platform scalability, and data with engineering leadership
- Demonstrable record of developing product managers
- Experience leading globally distributed teams across multiple countries and time zones
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Warm, open, honest, and fun to work with
- Knowledge of the HR industry is preferred but not critical
