Job Description

HRSG application engineering leader developing technically winning proposals for GE Vernova’s combined-cycle power plants. Optimizing HRSG designs, leading global engineering teams, and supporting customer projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives for HRSGs and associated scope
  • Integrate and develop engineering solutions meeting customer requirements and business needs
  • Participate in long-term planning with EAE resource managers across the America region
  • Own the technical content of proposals for GE Combined Cycle power plant configurations
  • Work with Commercial Operations, Product Engineering, and Product Management teams to win profitable projects
  • Perform complex assignments independently and resolve unusual or complex problems
  • Collaborate on introducing NPI features and products to increase HRSG competitiveness
  • Provide oversight, direction, and surveillance to ensure global HRSG Application Engineering team success and proposal quality
  • Lead ITO-related interactions with pre-ITO, Product Line, Product Engineering, OTR, and global HRSG Application Engineering teams
  • Partner with EAE resource managers on HRSG Application Engineer development and provide feedback
  • Assist with proposal workload distribution by maintaining awareness of global team members' strengths and capabilities
  • Define proposal strategy for HRSG and associated equipment on complex and large projects
  • Establish and provide technical training and development for the global HRSG Application Engineering team
  • Mentor less experienced engineers
  • Lead process, tools, and methods improvement to drive quality and productivity
  • Develop market-winning proposals anticipating business and product needs
  • Provide technical reviews, comments, and consultation to customers and internal GE teams on HRSG and associated scope

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge/experience
  • Significant design engineering and/or application engineering experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Equipment Application Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in HRSG
  • Significant experience working with customers on combined-cycle power projects
  • Significant experience in HRSG value creation, including performance/design optimization, cost-out programs, ITO process/tools improvement, quoting limit, product structuring, and carbon capture NPI programs
  • Proven customer interaction and relationships in NAM
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exposure to site-oriented operations such as HRSG erection and maintenance in front of customers
  • Knowledge or experience in Commercial Operations, Application Engineering, and Requisition Engineering processes between NPI, ITO, and OTR
  • Knowledge of HRSG ITO or OTR
  • Knowledge of heat balance diagrams and HRSG thermal design
  • Ability to size and optimize HRSGs
  • Experience designing HRSGs and associated equipment for combined-cycle power plants
  • Understanding of technical requirements for combined-cycle plants, HRSGs, and associated equipment
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs advancing business knowledge and capability
  • Problem analysis and resolution skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in defining the state of the art in HRSGs and teaching and establishing standard practices internally and externally
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
