Job Description
Remote mentor trainer developing teachers and missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ. Coaching mentors, evaluating performance, and supporting missionary well-being across Central Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Report to manager level in Training Development
- Train and provide ongoing evaluation and development of teachers and missionaries
- Provide individual coaching and continuing in-service training of mentors through weekly meetings
- Provide mentors with materials and policy information
- Observe and evaluate missionaries and mentors
- Facilitate opportunities for mentor improvement
- Assist the Area Manager in training new mentors
- Ensure mentors understand and effectively teach approved In-field Preach My Gospel curriculum
- Lead in establishing updates or new In-field Preach My Gospel training curriculum
- Fill in as a mentor when needed
- Advocate for missionary well-being and ensure individual missionary needs are addressed
- Lead mentors in creating an ideal learning environment
- Handle day-to-day supervisory matters and confer with the Area Manager regarding disciplinary issues
- Provide timely recommendations for mentor merit increases
- Coordinate with other mentor trainers
- Report mentor performance to the Area Manager
- Assist in interviewing and evaluating candidates’ teaching and language capacities and making hiring decisions
- Assist in area training meetings and coordinating training resources
- Make recommendations for teacher dismissal
- Assist in assessing missionaries’ and mentor applicants’ proficiency in the target language
- Take on mentor responsibilities as needs arise
- Perform other temporary assigned duties
Requirements:
- 6 months experience as an In-field Mentor
- Must be a returned missionary
- Knowledge of In-field Preach My Gospel training learning strategies and methodologies
- Solid understanding of In-field Preach My Gospel training principles
- Problem-solving and organizational abilities
- Exceptional training competence
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to handle pressure well
- Technology skills to function adequately in a remote environment
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills
- Solid understanding of Preach My Gospel
- Encouraging attitude, proactivity, and self-motivation
- Experience having served as a missionary
- Ability to meet physical requirements such as sitting for long periods and using monitors/equipment
- Preferred: 1 year of experience with teaching, training, or tutoring in any capacity
Benefits:
- Gross monthly salary of €2,040–€2,540
- Part-time schedule of 20 hours per week
