Job Description
Business Development Manager growing landscaping and snow removal sales for Schill Grounds Management. Building client relationships, developing proposals, and closing territory sales across Central Ohio.
Responsibilities:
- Pursue new sales while growing and maintaining customer relationships
- Organize plans, research, and identify potential clients for landscaping and snow removal services
- Attend networking functions and events to promote the brand and seek new business opportunities
- Identify prospective clients and build relationships with key decision-makers
- Use the proven sales process to uncover new opportunities
- Collaborate with team members to develop proposals addressing prospects' pain points and problems
- Use sales techniques to negotiate through stalls, objections, and buyer behavior to reach decisions quickly
- Attend industry functions within the region or state and monitor market trends
- Serve as a thought leader on current landscaping trends and practices
- Maintain regular face-to-face, phone, text, and email communication for prompt follow-up
- Provide instructions with new contracts for service teams
- Document property notes in the CRM
- Perform frequent local travel and work from various locations or home as needed
Requirements:
- Must reside in Central Ohio due to territory coverage
- Prior outdoor sales experience in the landscaping industry is required
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record to meet fleet insurance standards
- Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
- 3-5 years of business-to-business sales experience
- Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Suite and CRM systems
- Strong communication, written, and formal presentation skills
- Proficiency in closing the sale
- Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented professional with an ability to work with minimum direction
- Strong project management and customer relations skills
- A positive attitude and a knack for working in a cooperative team environment
- Must be extremely organized
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an outgoing personality
- Frequent local travel and flexibility with work hours outside regular business hours
