Job Description

Legal Assistant & Receptionist handling client intake for a U.S.-based law firm focused on bankruptcy. Responsible for assessing financial situations and guiding prospects to convert leads into clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Answering all new client inbound calls during business hours and serving as the firm’s primary intake contact
  • Conducting structured intake conversations to assess financial circumstances and bankruptcy eligibility
  • Explaining bankruptcy options (such as Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 at a high level) in a clear and reassuring manner
  • Converting qualified prospects into signed clients during the initial call whenever appropriate
  • Scheduling consultations when necessary and coordinating seamlessly with the attorney
  • Conducting consistent follow-up calls with warm leads and no-shows
  • Documenting all conversations accurately and thoroughly in the firm’s systems
  • Maintaining urgency to reduce intake delay and prevent lead loss
  • Collaborating with the internal team to refine intake processes and improve conversion performance

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in legal intake, sales, client conversion, or high-volume phone-based roles
  • Strong preference for candidates with bankruptcy law experience (Chapter 7 / Chapter 13 familiarity highly valued)
  • Prior experience in a bankruptcy firm intake role is a major plus
  • Proven ability to confidently handle inbound calls and guide prospects toward a decision
  • Strong verbal communication skills with a professional, reassuring phone presence
  • Ability to build trust quickly with individuals facing financial distress
  • Experience conducting structured follow-ups and nurturing warm leads
  • Comfortable working in a performance-driven environment focused on client acquisition
  • Highly organized with strong documentation habits and attention to detail
  • Reliable internet connection and professional remote work setup
  • Experience with RingCentral or similar VoIP systems is a plus
