Job Description
Operations Manager improving performance, quality, and growth across Vituity’s healthcare practices. Leading process improvement, budgeting, staffing, and operational initiatives nationwide.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor operational performance and goals
- Provide operational leadership, management, and oversight for process improvement programs addressing practice line operations performance
- Identify service issues and coordinate action plans with Physician leadership and the Practice Operations Director
- Support the Practice Operations Director with the design, development, and monitoring of performance metrics
- Collect and disseminate system processes and best practices
- Facilitate research and pilots of strategic programs and services that enhance operations
- Represent the division as a strong and positive leader
- Deploy practice knowledge to encourage standard practice within the division
- Negotiate, communicate, and coordinate operational changes and new initiatives across practice lines and departments
- Develop and implement operational infrastructure plans for systems, processes, and personnel supporting growth objectives
- Manage actual performance against budget and provide analysis of material variances
- Support financial, budget, and business goals
- Assist with start-ups and provide support for a reasonable number of sites
- Help team members achieve operational and financial performance through tracking and consulting initiatives
- Integrate Vituity resources and services to support, enhance, and innovate practices
- Support regional activities and team meetings
- Support programs and innovation collaboratives by identifying sites and resources and presenting as requested
- Ensure operational performance and quality metrics in collaboration with the Practice Operations Director and Medical Team
- Implement, coordinate, and execute policies and operational initiatives for the division
- Provide operational support including revenue cycle management, educational programs, and Business Development support
- Travel as needed to practice locations for personnel and project support
- Establish standards and objectives for department personnel
- Review semi-annual performance evaluations and conduct annual performance reviews and goal setting
- Meet regularly with department personnel individually and as a group
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and counseling of department employees in cooperation with physician leaders
- Conduct staffing analyses, gap analyses, and forecasts; prepare proposals and evaluate opportunities for growth and expanded practice line functions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Business, Finance, or related business, operations or healthcare field and 5 years of experience in healthcare operations, business analysis, operations analysis OR equivalent combination of education and experience showing demonstrated ability to meet expectations and ensure success of the role required
- 2 years of management or progressive responsibilities with supervisory duties required
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Management, Business, Finance, or related business, operations or healthcare field and 8 years of experience in healthcare operations, business analysis, operations analysis preferred
- 3 years of management or progressive responsibilities with supervisory duties preferred
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to synthesize multiple sources of information, objectively evaluate complex operations, and communicate effectively at many levels
- Moderate expertise in healthcare operations with basic to moderate understanding and usage of lean six sigma principles and methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Analytical skills in financial statements and statistical reports
- Ability to establish credibility quickly with Vituity and hospital clients
- Project management, negotiation, and facilitation skills
- Ability to motivate and develop the potential of others
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of the physician’s clinical, management and leadership roles in the healthcare environment
- Knowledge of MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Public speaking skills with an ability to present to all types of audiences
- Demonstrated ability to handle detailed work accurately and quickly, work to deadlines on multiple projects, work as a team member in a collaborative and participatory manner, and interact in person and over the phone with a courteous and professional demeanor
