Job Description
Technical Program Manager leading architecture initiatives and Project Managers for Paramount’s streaming platform. Evaluating technical scope, dependencies, RFCs, and program risk across engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert on core technical architecture and work directly with engineers on implementation, impact, and risk
- Manage and develop a team of Project Managers, including workload distribution, portfolio prioritization, and professional growth
- Guide requirements gathering for large architectural initiatives toward an agreed MVP
- Manage scope creep across competing team approaches
- Establish and lead focused working groups (tiger teams) for isolated architectural changes
- Run and facilitate Architecture Intake with engineering leads across architecture and feature teams
- Review new RFCs before roadmap commitment
- Triage daily requests and escalations from feature teams across Paramount Streaming platforms
- Distinguish routine requests from deeper dependency issues
- Communicate program health, risk, and architectural roadmap status to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
Requirements:
- 7+ years of technical program management experience in a complex, matrixed engineering organization
- Experience supporting platform or architecture teams rather than feature delivery teams preferred
- Experience managing or mentoring program/project managers, including performance, growth, and workload balancing
- Ability to understand and reason about system architecture to evaluate engineering estimates, scoping, and technical tradeoffs
- Experience running structured technical review processes such as architecture review boards or RFC processes
- Experience managing platform or infrastructure work with dependencies across multiple engineering teams and SRE
- Strong judgment on escalation, pushback, and engineering team autonomy
- High proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and technical documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication with engineers and leadership
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with Next.js, Module Federation, micro-frontend architectures, or similar web platform technologies preferred
- Experience in direct-to-consumer streaming, media, or high-traffic web platforms preferred
- Background as a software engineer or technical lead prior to program management preferred
