Job Description
Managing Director leading OPEN MINDS healthcare market intelligence and executive education services. Owning strategy, P&L, editorial production, events, and executive teams.
Responsibilities:
- Own the full strategy, growth, P&L performance, and operational delivery for OPEN MINDS market intelligence service lines
- Design the long-term vision, go-to-market strategy, and expansion roadmap for the service line
- Manage revenue targets, pricing models, budget allocations, and financial performance
- Establish service delivery standards, KPIs, and scalable processes for quality and timely delivery
- Partner with sales/marketing and technology teams to align execution with enterprise objectives
- Mentor high-performing teams
- Manage the General Manager, Market Intelligence and oversee daily executive briefings, newsletters, news services, databases, reports, webinars, and organizational profiles
- Manage editorial planning, topic selection, content production, layout, editing, and publication cycles
- Research and implement editorial decisions for company and client publications
- Review and edit publications for style, tone, length, grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Develop and coach writing staff and assist with artwork, photography, and text selection
- Facilitate collaboration among editorial, marketing, and product teams to maintain a consistent brand message
- Ensure publications are completed on time and within budget
- Analyze subscription metrics and report on content effectiveness to guide future production and optimization
- Edit pre-publication content on online platforms from internal and external sources
- Contribute to subscription sales and renewal processes, including virtual tours for subscribers
- Manage the General Manager, Executive Education and oversee education-service planning, marketing, events, and business operations
- Manage event logistics, venue and vendor contracting, staffing plans, and event workplans
- Achieve education revenue and profitability goals
- Oversee executive education marketing strategies, websites, SEO, presentations, deliverables, curricula, agendas, speaker recruitment, and attendee experience
- Lead development and delivery of high-quality content at virtual and on-site executive education events
- Ensure website user experience and published articles meet client and executive-content requirements
- Maintain current knowledge of industry developments and trends
- Report to the Chief Operating Officer and manage the General Manager, Market Intelligence, General Manager, Executive Education, and Editorial Production Manager
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience working in the health and human services field
- 5 years of managerial experience
- Strong research skills, including independent research, analysis, and report production
- Ability to understand and interpret challenging health care policy, technology, and data
- Experience writing thought leader pieces preferred
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, with ability to track multiple concurrent tasks and projects
- Experience publishing health and/or business content at a large-scale website
- Experience editing content and providing detailed feedback across topics
- Ability to proof documents for grammatical accuracy and correct layout
- Understanding of analytics and experience applying learnings to future content production
- Excellent project management, organizational, communication, and analytical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter able to thrive in a fast-paced, agile, team-oriented environment and lead through change and ambiguity
- Curious, collaborative, open-minded approach
- Demonstrated proficiency with word processing, electronic data transfer programs, email, databases, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience working with a C-Level executive preferred
- Ability to lift 35 pounds
- Visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
- Ability to travel unattended as needed
- Ability to use a personal credit card for occasional organizational purchases, subject to reimbursement
