Job Description

Market Research Analyst helping SlashData, which studies software development and developer ecosystems, understand AI-driven technology trends. Turning survey data into client research, reports, briefings, and strategic foresight.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with clients and internal stakeholders to translate business problems into research objectives and projects
  • Design surveys addressing client research needs and desired outcomes
  • Analyse data using Python to extract actionable insights on developer behaviours, preferences, and market trends
  • Produce clear, well-structured reports explaining findings and their relevance
  • Present findings in client briefings, webinars, and other external-facing formats
  • Develop domain expertise and a credible point of view on AI technology trends, developer tools, and software engineering practices
  • Provide foresight on emerging technology trends
  • Build and maintain direct advisory relationships with client stakeholders
  • Develop a credible point of view on at least one AI technology trend within the first three months
  • Author at least one research report within the first three months
  • Participate in at least two client research projects within the first three months
  • Deliver at least one client briefing or webinar within the first three months
  • Contribute to the research agenda and questionnaire design for the global developer survey
  • Support developer outreach and sales teams
  • Build working relationships with at least one client account

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in market research, data analysis, and client project delivery
  • Experience working with stakeholders to understand business objectives and define research projects
  • Excellent business writing skills in English
  • Ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences
  • Experience writing clear, evidence-based research reports that turn data into actionable insights
  • Confidence in client-facing settings
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to converse with senior product and engineering leaders
  • Strong data analysis skills with hands-on experience with Python, R, or similar scripting tools
  • Basic understanding of statistics and applied quantitative methods, including segmentation, clustering, and classification
  • Ability to visualise data through clear charts and graphics
  • Comfortable working as part of a distributed team with flexible working hours
  • Availability for occasional client meetings after 17:00 UK time
  • Genuine curiosity about AI, developer tools, or software engineering trends
  • Experience with complex survey data is a bonus
  • Advanced Python and Pandas skills are a bonus
  • Software development experience is a bonus
  • Experience at an analyst firm, technology advisory firm, or in developer relations/developer marketing is a bonus
