Job Description
Materials Development Project Manager leading projects from concept to implementation in DS Smith's R&D for paper-making. Ensuring project value and efficiency with technical development and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead selected projects from initial concept through proof of concept (PoC) or pilot phases into full business implementation.
- Ensure projects deliver measurable business value within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Conduct baseline technical work including designing and developing solutions for successful implementation.
- Collaborate with the R&D PMO to ensure governance and reporting standards are met.
Requirements:
- Doctorate/ min Degree level (or equivalent) in a technology-related field
- Previous experience in an industrial environment, preferably within a paper mill.
- Proven Project Management track record.
- In-depth knowledge of paper manufacturing processes, recycling, and fibre properties.
- Familiarity with workflow and data architecture.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office, and data analysis tools.
