Job Description
Field-based Rheumatology Medical Science Liaison advancing J&J immunology medicines across Georgia and North Florida. Building KOL relationships, delivering scientific exchange, and supporting research.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan for the Georgia/North Florida territory
- Cultivate relationships with community and academic opinion leaders/KOLs
- Conduct high-quality, two-way scientific exchange with healthcare professionals
- Collect, synthesize, and apply clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory-level information
- Leverage AI tools and insights to improve decision-making, processes, efficiency, and outcomes
- Monitor competitors and incorporate evidence-based clinical context into engagement planning
- Deliver scientific data through dialogue and presentations tailored to HCP needs
- Identify challenges and unmet needs and propose evidence-based solutions or educational initiatives
- Submit actionable insights aligned with organizational priorities
- Respond to unsolicited inquiries about J&J products and research
- Support investigators and internal partners for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies
- Collaborate with MSL partners, R&D, Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Sales, and Marketing
- Maintain scientific acumen through self-study, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions
- Support inclusion and belonging
- Follow regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, Medical Affairs SOPs, and related guidelines
- Develop a performance and development plan with the Field Director
- Complete administrative documentation and expense reporting accurately and compliantly
Requirements:
- A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is required (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers)
- Post graduate experience is required for Doctoral level candidates
- In-depth scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge
- Research and/or health care system knowledge
- Proficiency in data gathering and analysis, clinical expertise, problem solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis
- Ability to support a specific territory with up to 70% travel
- Must hold a valid US Driver’s License
- 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in MSL role
- 2+ years of therapeutic area experience is preferred
- Residency/fellowship preferred
- Board certification for clinical degrees preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to learning emerging technologies, such as AI
