Job Description

Nomadic Mission Operator driving test vehicles across multiple states for Latitude AI’s autonomous-driving platform. Collecting vehicle data, troubleshooting systems, and maintaining safety reports on multi-day missions.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive test vehicles across multiple states while collecting data on multi-day missions
  • Facilitate transfer of collected data back to Latitude
  • Work a 6-day, up to 60-hour workweek on a 3-weeks-on, 1-week-off schedule
  • Perform daily start-up, system engagement/disengagement, and shutdown procedures for development vehicles
  • Monitor and troubleshoot software and hardware systems while on the road
  • Execute data collection according to safety and compliance protocols
  • Maintain detailed reports on system performance and data collection achievements
  • Represent Latitude professionally and responsibly while driving in public environments
  • Prioritize the safety of all road users

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with two years of employment experience required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of residence
  • Must meet Latitude AI’s minimum driving record requirements, verified by Motor Vehicle Record background checks before hire and periodically thereafter
  • Active passport or passport card
  • Ability to pass ten-panel drug screening and criminal background checks before employment and periodically thereafter
  • Comfortable spending long hours driving and working in close quarters with others
  • Strong interest in technology and ability to adapt quickly to challenges and changes
  • Technical proficiency with computers, including typing, checking network connections, and navigating web-based applications
  • Basic software and hardware troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work autonomously or with limited oversight
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Prior technical driving, fleet operations, or vehicle testing experience preferred
  • Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics and data logging tools preferred
  • Familiarity with Jira, Slack, Driver Schedule, or similar work management tools preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis
