Job Description
Non-investment finance expert creating and evaluating reconciliations, models, and credit analyses. Supporting Mercor’s frontier AI training through expert-grade finance work products.
Responsibilities:
- Build and review PnL and mark-to-market reconciliations
- Prepare vendor / AP payment reconciliations under cash constraints with controls
- Create integrated 3-statement and pro-forma models, including purchase-accounting impacts
- Perform covenant and credit analysis
- Prepare partnership / professional-services allocations, including profit-pool waterfalls and capital accounts
- Reason from term sheets, purchase/partnership agreements, trial balances, memos, and emails
- Distinguish material information from deliberate distractors
- Write CFO/partner-ready narratives explaining assumptions, variances, and recommendations
- Produce and evaluate expert-grade finance work products for AI training and evaluation
- Complete projects independently on a flexible schedule
Requirements:
- 3+ years in a hands-on non-investment finance role
- Experience in product control / financial control, corporate FP&A, technical accounting, treasury / financial operations / AP–P2P, commercial-banking credit, or professional-services / partnership finance
- CPA / CA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent strongly preferred
- Strong US GAAP / IFRS knowledge; ASC 805 and ASC 606 are a bonus
- Advanced Excel modeling, including linked 3-statement models, reconciliations, and pro formas
- Comfort exercising professional judgment on incomplete or ambiguous information
- CFA / investing / portfolio-management background is not required
- Must be able to work as an independent contractor
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
