Job Description
Operations Associate managing vendor, logistics, and returns operations for Rare Carat, the U.S. diamond marketplace. Coordinating shipments and customer support from Sri Lanka.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of Rare Carat's e-commerce website
- Work closely with 200+ diamond vendors from Bombay, Surat, Hong Kong, Belgium, and the USA, as well as jewelry manufacturers
- Ensure the supply chain runs smoothly
- Monitor distribution centers in New York and Bombay for efficient order processing and timely shipping
- Manage key communications and dispute handling with vendors
- Ensure timely payments and credit reconciliation with vendors
- Coordinate with customer support to ensure timely, professional responses to customer inquiries
- Work with logistics partners to keep shipments on schedule and manage expedite requests
- Maintain accurate shipment and logistics records
- Report potential delays and blockages to the Director of Operations and develop preventive solutions
- Use Excel, Google Sheets, and other software to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for returns and manage reverse logistics
- Collaborate with customer support to resolve return-related issues
- Analyze data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain management or related fields
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and other software tools
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
- Knowledge of the diamond industry is a plus
- Startup experience is a big plus
- Ability to work 7 pm–3 am IST (US EST timing)
