Job Description
Patient Billing Specialist managing patient billing inquiries and ensuring clarity in patient interactions. Collaborating with internal teams to resolve billing issues in a remote healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
- Contact patients regarding outstanding balances and assist with billing-related questions.
- Manage delinquent account lists and communicate past-due or discharge notices as needed.
- Work with third-party collection agencies to add or remove patients from collections and resolve any agency inquiries.
- Uphold HIPAA standards and maintain confidentiality in all interactions.
- Educate patients on their insurance benefits, coverage details, and expected out-of-pocket costs.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing, collections, or healthcare revenue cycle management
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems preferred
- Familiarity with working alongside collection agencies
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working remotely and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
