Job Description
Payroll Associate responsible for processing payroll and managing complex inquiries for clients. Must be PCP certified and experienced in Canadian payroll practices.
Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly/monthly payroll on time, making changes to payroll (adding/removing employees, adding/removing deductions, etc.)
- Handle the T4 process and submit ROE forms amongst other payroll duties
- Answer complex inquiries from clients related to payroll, providing recommendations and problem-solving
- Analyze data while maintaining compliance, accuracy, and efficiency
- Calculate and file health tax levies, taxes, and WCB for multiple provinces
- Review CRA accounts and respond to notices
- Correspond with clients and the bookkeeping team to ensure timely service and a hands-off experience
- Benefits reconciliation
Requirements:
- PCP certified
- At least 3-5 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced environment for a company or companies with multiple employees
- Intimate understanding of the Canadian payroll process, including but not limited to withholding taxes, source deductions, other deductions, benefits, ROE forms, T4 slips, and more
- Experience processing payroll in multiple provinces (QC is an asset)
