Job Description

Pharmacy Consultant Lead developing pharmacy benefit strategies, clinical reviews, and cost-effective drug programs. Supporting new business and client solutions for a national employee benefits consultancy.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level pharmacy program expertise for the National Employee Benefits group
  • Support new business initiatives and develop pharmacy program solutions for clients
  • Support the Rx Practice Leader and National Employee Benefits team initiatives to drive new business
  • Work with health benefit consultants to develop client strategies, develop new business, and prepare client deliverables
  • Contribute to intellectual capital development of major pharmacy initiatives
  • Educate local region consulting staff on pharmacy topics and identify key sales opportunities
  • Perform clinical reviews of formulary changes and new drugs and develop client points of view
  • Develop training strategies to channel members toward cost-effective drugs, including specialty drugs
  • Contribute pharmacy best practices, market trends, products, and services to develop new tools and products
  • Maintain current health industry and prescription drug cost knowledge
  • Maintain complete and accurate information in the agency management system
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Pharmacy degree (R.Ph or Pharm.D.)
  • Ten (10) or more years of recent relevant experience in a pharmacy benefit consulting firm or strong pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) experience
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong clinical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and ability to form a distinct point of view
  • Ability to develop plans for execution of large, complex projects, seeing the "big picture" and leveraging other experts to contribute to the project as appropriate
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work without defined protocols
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%
