Job Description

Pharmacy Consultant advising employee benefits clients on PBM strategy, pricing, and pharmacy programs. Supporting consulting projects, client deliverables, and new business initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day pharmacy program expertise for the National Employee Benefits group
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and support consulting projects for prospects and clients
  • Serve as the pharmacy subject matter expert alongside health benefit consultants
  • Develop client strategies and prepare client deliverables
  • Build client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor
  • Review Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) contracts and financial analyses
  • Prepare pricing models to evaluate client proposals
  • Participate in client conference calls and meetings
  • Educate regional staff on pharmacy topics and identify sales opportunities
  • Review pharmacy reports and identify trends against benchmarks
  • Contribute to new tools and products based on pharmacy best practices, market trends, and marketplace offerings
  • Maintain complete and accurate agency management system data

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in health care or a related industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of recent relevant experience in a consulting firm or PBM, or in actuarial, underwriting, pricing, account management, or consulting within a Health & Welfare consulting/brokerage firm, PBM, or health insurance carrier
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Ability to develop execution plans for large, complex projects
  • Ability to work independently and with ambiguity
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with consultants who maintain busy travel schedules
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work with large data sets in Excel, Access, or other data manipulation software is a plus
