Job Description

Power Platform Developer focusing on Power BI solutions for a technology consulting firm. Delivering high-quality, scalable Power BI reporting within defined timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets based on business requirements
  • Build and optimize data models using DAX and Power Query (M)
  • Implement row-level security (RLS) and ensure appropriate access controls
  • Improve report performance, refresh reliability, and usability
  • Translate loosely defined requirements into clear, actionable analytics
  • Integrate Power BI with SharePoint, Excel, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse as required
  • Support embedded Power BI and cross-workspace reporting scenarios
  • Provide recommendations on Power Platform best practices and architecture
  • Collaborate with business users, analysts, and technical teams during the contract period
  • Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and handoff at project milestones
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Power BI–related issues efficiently

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience
  • Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and dimensional data modeling
  • Experience with Power BI Service, workspaces, apps, and deployment pipelines
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Ability to work independently and deliver against tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
  • Familiarity with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory) (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
  • Experience in Power BI Premium / Microsoft Fabric environments (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-300) (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
  • Prior consulting or contract-based project experience (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
