Job Description
Professional Learning Specialist supporting Alabama educators with professional development, data analysis, and classroom coaching. Helping schools implement Curriculum Associates’ Ready and i-Ready education technology.
Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted professional development and ongoing in-classroom support
- Analyze data and support educators in applying it to instruction
- Manage daily projects and communicate with district and site leaders
- Support districts in selecting and implementing Curriculum Associates products
- Become an expert on the company’s online Diagnostic and Instruction program and Common Core product
- Support district-wide adoptions of the Ready program and the i-Ready online diagnostic and instruction program
- Deliver professional development to teachers, coaches, and leaders on implementing Ready and i-Ready
- Provide tailored on-site support, including lesson planning and pacing support
- Help leaders identify evidence of implementation successes and challenges
- Collaborate with district and site leaders to develop and revise annual professional development plans and schedules
- Serve as a thought leader for Curriculum Associates
- Attend company-provided educational conferences and participate in team-provided development
- Work with multiple stakeholders, including the Sales team, teachers, students, and school districts
- Travel up to 80%, including overnight stays and transportation by car, plane, and/or public transportation
- Support districts throughout North Alabama and across the state based on business needs
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of experience in teaching, coaching teachers, or providing professional development
- Fluency using digital tools including online assessments
- High level of comfort discussing and applying data with teachers and leaders
- Understanding of principles of adult learning and how to apply them to professional development
- Ability to manage, monitor, evaluate, and ensure integrity of program implementations
- Ability to provide high-quality classroom coaching
- Willingness to travel within the designated territory and to company meetings several times throughout the year
- Strong working knowledge of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics/ELA, Grades K–8, or comparable state standards, including content and practice standards
- Must currently reside in North Alabama or be willing to relocate to the area
- Valid driver's license required
