Job Description
Program Director overseeing Stepful’s surgical technology and sterile processing training programs. Leading instructors, clinical operations, employer partnerships, and student outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Stepful's Surgical Technology and Sterile Processing programs
- Own day-to-day operations across online didactic, in-person skills lab, and clinical education components
- Safeguard NCCT program approval and applicable state regulatory standing
- Conduct program evaluation and assessment and drive continuous improvement
- Hire, onboard, and manage full-time, contractor, and adjunct instructors
- Set quality and performance standards and lead performance calibration
- Coach and develop team members
- Serve as primary contact for healthcare employer partners across multiple states
- Lead client site visits and clinical skills calibration
- Support program expansion and onboarding of new employer partners
- Collaborate with curriculum teams to strengthen content and align with industry and employer expectations
- Oversee student progress, academic advising, and program completion support
- Experiment with AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, reporting, and student outcomes
- Report to the Senior Director, Operations
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience teaching surgical technology, including course delivery, assessment, and student support
- Active NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist or NCCT TS-C certification
- 5+ years of clinical or operational experience in surgical technology, sterile processing, or a related surgical services field
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare education, training program administration, or a clinical operations role with instructional oversight
- Experience with regulatory or certification compliance strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team, including contractors or adjunct instructors
- Experience working with enterprise clients, clinical sites, or healthcare employer partners
- Strong cross-functional skills working with instructors, students, clinical partners, and internal teams across multiple states
- Comfort in a fast-growing organization where priorities evolve and initiative is valued
- Experience in EdTech or online/hybrid healthcare training environments is a bonus
- Experience with NCCT program reviews, accreditation processes, or state authorization compliance activities is a bonus
- Dual certification across surgical technology and sterile processing is a bonus
- Must hold an active, current NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist or NCCT Tech in Surgery - Certified certification
- Must have 5+ years of experience working as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a clinical setting
- Must have 3+ years of experience teaching surgical technology courses
