Job Description
Strategic Initiatives Manager overseeing the USDA Agricultural Research Service SCINet operations remotely. Providing program oversight, governance support, and ensuring alignment with USDA objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for SCINet program support activities
- Manage configuration control and documentation for meetings, decisions, and initiatives
- Maintain the SCINet Operations Kanban Board
- Develop, track, and maintain a Risk Management Program
- Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive Change Management System
- Maintain and update the Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RACI)
- Track and validate SCINet hardware inventory
- Monitor and manage the [email protected] inbox, escalating issues as appropriate
- Coordinate with SCINet leadership, network engineers, HPC administrators, and stakeholders
- Plan, monitor, and close initiatives supporting SCINet operations and expansion
- Provide weekly activity reports and support required program deliverables
- Ensure compliance with USDA policies, security requirements, and response SLAs
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of IT program or project management experience
- Experience supporting scientific computing, research, or HPC environments
- Demonstrated expertise in change management, risk management, and stakeholder coordination
- Strong organizational and documentation management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently in a distributed environment
