Job Description

Project Coordinator supporting Cando’s rail operating services and industrial operations. Coordinating project lifecycles, subcontractors, compliance, budgets, training, and operational handovers across Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies for new and existing operations throughout the company in conjunction with the project manager and project team
  • Coordinate and oversee initial planning, design, preparation, execution, and closeout phases of projects
  • Review and comment on existing processes and operations
  • Recommend efficiency opportunities and improvements throughout the project life cycle
  • Manage subcontractors, including credential vetting, contractor requirement verification, and documentation maintenance
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, HSSE policy maintenance, and QA/QC requirements
  • Create, track, and maintain financial records, reports, and processes
  • Create and implement work systems and procedures for operational handover
  • Provide adequate training to team members
  • Maintain project timelines, budgets, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Implement project management best practices
  • Act as the Cando site representative and communicate with stakeholders
  • Support execution or implementation of new and existing business
  • Travel away from home for extended periods to support new and existing business
  • Track customer interactions and maintain the knowledge base
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with team members

Requirements:

  • Ability to independently plan, organize, and prioritize workload for successful project implementation in a dynamic environment
  • Strong leadership qualities, including communication, motivational support, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills
  • Working knowledge of project management principles and Cando’s service delivery practices
  • Advanced computer skills and ability to learn, implement, and share new processes and technologies
  • Proficient in Office 365 programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Projects, and MS Visio
  • Technical knowledge of marine and/or transload and terminal equipment, metering, and regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of railway operations, yard management, Class 1 railways, and related software
  • Awareness of lean management principles and concepts
  • Ability to hold and maintain all required certifications to execute responsibilities
  • Ability to travel to various locations throughout Canada and the US
  • Experience working in a refinery, marine terminal, railway, or related industrial environment
  • Experience working with hydrocarbon processes, regulations, and equipment
  • Experience in railcar handling, TDG, and railcar anatomy
  • Diploma in Business or Project Management is preferred
