Job Description
Project Manager overseeing construction and commissioning field operations for GE Vernova energy projects. Tracking site schedules, budgets, vendors, mobilization, and demobilization.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and control the different phases of field operations for projects
- Ensure site works are completed safely, to required quality standards, on time, and within budget
- Participate in site work strategy definition with the Project Director and Construction Leader
- Build and update monthly project financial and physical progress tracking for site works
- Perform weekly site schedule updates for planned versus actual progress with the site manager and project planner
- Coordinate communications across project teams to support planning and execution
- Participate in customer meetings
- Identify scope management changes for site works and oversee quantity and quality impacts
- Track project site documentation for timely issuance to the customer, including methods, site quality plans, and commissioning reports
- Engage in risk mitigation and opportunity assessment
- Prepare requests for quotations and purchase requests for site-work subcontracting
- Manage specific vendor packages at site, including piping, painting, and machining
- Prepare detailed mobilization planning and ensure resource-loading requirements are met
- Lead the mobilization tollgate review and represent Construction & Commissioning in project reviews
- Anticipate site mobilization needs, including tooling, safety equipment, warehousing, office infrastructure, worker accommodations, and site training
- Prepare and lead site demobilization at project completion
Requirements:
- College or bachelor’s degree in management or engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), or relevant proven field experience
- 5+ years in project management organization in Construction or Commissioning
- Experience with technical concepts, including hydropower technology, turbines, generators, and mechanical and electrical balance of plant systems
- Field management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Leadership skills
- Availability to travel within USA at least 30% of the time
- Strong and demonstrated EHS culture
- Attention to quality management and continuous improvement of quality culture
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
