Job Description

Proposal Manager in the Proposal Solutions team at Curtiss-Wright. Developing, managing, and submitting RFQ/RFP proposals for defense and aerospace projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Responds to RFQ/RFP releases and other calls for proposals;
  • Drives proposal development individually and manages proposal stakeholder teams to ensure proposals meet all customer requirements;
  • Prepares and assists in submission of proposals to include review and compliance, outlining, and follow-through on compliant and timely proposal submission with appropriate approvals;
  • Organizes and leads bid review meetings, including bid/no bid, and ensures winning strategies are established and clearly conveyed in the submission as required (competitive bids)
  • Provides direction for the preparation of the technical, management, and cost inputs to achieve a response in line with the RFP requirements and bid strategy
  • Leads and organizes ongoing proposal meetings to identify and resolve problems and share information
  • Leads the assembly and production of a complete submission which meets all RFP requirements
  • Leads or participates in kick-off meetings; oversees team's effort through the writing process; oversees proposal reviews; obtains management and corporate approvals; and follows through on compliant and timely proposal submission
  • Manages multiple bids and proposals with dynamic priorities
  • Leads or supports process improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • University degree in Engineering, Business Management, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in project management is mandatory, with a minimum of 7-10 years related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Aviation/Aerospace market and customer base is mandatory
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office business applications
  • Proficient in ERP (SAP), MS Dynamics CRM, or equivalents is desired but not mandatory
  • Strong skills in planning, problem solving, critical thinking, analysis, and research
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Team leadership skills and experience and proven ability to work within a team; an active listener, collaborative, forward leaning, and influential
  • Balanced business perspective
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadline requirements with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; with a focus on team leadership
