Job Description
Direct response copywriter owning messaging strategy for an info/coaching marketing agency. Writing ad scripts and funnel copy for high-budget clients, collaborating on creative strategy and performance analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Own messaging strategy across a client pod in info/coaching marketing agency
- Write ad scripts, funnel copy, emails, webinars, and sales pages for clients spending $100k-$1M+ monthly on ads
- Participate in creative strategy alongside team; analyze what's working and decide what to iterate on
- Review performance data to understand winning factors and prepare for creative strategy calls
- Write from briefs you helped shape
- Fill out creative briefs with strategic reasoning
- Update the creative tracker with batch details before submission for review
- Collaborate with strategist on messaging direction and funnel improvements
- Coordinate with creative leads on video scripts and static direction
Requirements:
- 3+ years of direct response copywriting experience; info/coaching space strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of awareness levels, belief shifts, and long-form persuasion structures (not just short-form social copy)
- Experience writing across formats: ad scripts, body copy, emails, sales pages, webinars/VSLs
- Ability to analyze creative performance and iterate intelligently - not just "try something different"
- Strong grasp of avatar psychology and offer positioning - you understand why messaging works, not just what to write
- Comfortable working within structured systems (creative trackers, naming conventions, brief templates)
- Can take loose direction ("we need to test a new angle for this audience segment") and return with developed concepts backed by reasoning.
