Job Description
Senior Product Manager owning GitLab's metering, rating, and usage billing platform. Enabling credit-based monetization across GitLab's DevSecOps products and deployment models.
Responsibilities:
- Own product direction for metering, aggregation, and rating in GitLab's usage billing pipeline
- Manage Zuora and CustomersDot integrations that turn usage into invoiced revenue
- Make onboarding new credit-consuming capabilities repeatable
- Partner with product teams on instrumentation, usage metering, pricing, and launch-day billability across GitLab.com, self-managed, and GitLab Dedicated
- Prioritize pipeline scalability, performance, and reliability against new capability enablement
- Own billing defect detection and remediation before errors reach customer invoices
- Support the Monetization Platform and Infrastructure team by framing problems and prioritizing platform investments against operational risk
- Define and track billing accuracy, pipeline reliability, cost to serve, and time to monetize metrics
Requirements:
- Experience owning the product direction of consumption- or usage-based billing systems
- Experience with Zuora or a comparable billing and revenue platform
- Understanding of how product and finance systems interact
- Experience with prepaid, commitment, or credit-drawdown pricing models, including balances, reservations, overage, and expiration
- Experience launching new products or pricing models while coordinating across engineering, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and go-to-market teams
- Ability to bring together teams not directly managed
- Experience defining problems for platform or backend teams
- Clear written communication in an all-remote, asynchronous environment
- Ability to use issues, epics, and direction pages to lead
- Familiarity with developer tooling, financial audit or revenue recognition, or an engineering background is helpful but not required
- Use of AI tools for prototyping, analysis, specification writing, and investigation
