Job Description

Senior Product Registration Manager leading Canadian pesticide regulatory strategies and approvals for FMC, a global agricultural sciences company. Managing registrations, data compensation, compliance, and industry regulatory initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement regulatory strategies and tactical plans for assigned active ingredients and products in Canada
  • Prepare regulatory dossiers covering chemistry, toxicology, metabolism, residue chemistry, environmental fate, environmental toxicology, value studies, summaries, risk assessments, and interpretations
  • Maintain existing registrations and defend technologies through re-evaluations and special reviews
  • Manage label amendments and execute product life cycle management strategies
  • Ensure product compliance with Pest Control Product regulations and federal and provincial pesticide laws
  • Interpret legislative and regulatory initiatives and develop rationales addressing regulatory needs
  • Represent FMC on CropLife Canada committees and recommend actions on regulatory issues
  • Participate in or lead multifunctional project teams affecting registrations
  • Manage unplanned events affecting submission quality and budgets
  • Coordinate with Global and North American Crop Registration and Regulatory Affairs teams
  • Provide regulatory guidance for product development activities in Canada
  • Liaise with Provincial Minor Use Coordinators to support PRD registration of Minor Use Projects
  • Forecast operational and financial budgets for relevant projects
  • Manage regulatory aspects of data compensation with PRD and internal team members
  • Coordinate settlement agreements with other registrants and data compensation cases with the US regulatory team
  • Manage regulatory records and databases and contribute to information-management enhancements
  • Work safely and support workplace security measures
  • Coach and mentor new staff
  • Report directly to the North America Registration and Regulatory Affairs Director

Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree, preferably in chemistry, biology, agronomy, and/or a related field
  • Master’s degree highly preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in a scientific discipline relevant to pesticide regulation in Canada
  • Experience advocating on regulatory issues through industry working groups and committees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priority activities
  • Strong attention to detail with deadline and customer service orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to influence positive outcomes
