Job Description
Senior Trial Attorney defending Allstate-insured clients and the Company in Ohio bodily injury and property damage litigation. Handling trials, mediations, arbitrations, and legal strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Represent insured individuals and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits
- Prepare for and conduct trials, hearings, mediations, depositions, and examinations under oath
- Prepare lay and expert witnesses and clients for depositions, mediations, and trials
- Conduct court appearances, including matter management conferences, hearings, and status conferences
- Assist colleagues in resolving calendar conflicts
- Keep claim business partners updated on case status
- Contact clients to discuss their cases and answer questions
- Review new file assignments and documentary evidence
- Draft initial pleadings, propound discovery, and develop case strategy
- Try and/or arbitrate cases, preparing motions in limine, jury instructions, trial briefs, and summary documents
- Draft post-trial motions as needed
- Provide counsel to business clients and coordinate between legal teams
- Monitor new laws and regulations
Requirements:
- 4 year Bachelors Degree (Required)
- Juris Doctor (Required)
- 5 or more years of experience (Preferred)
