Job Description
Embedded software engineer developing mission-processing systems for Frontgrade Technologies’ space and defense electronics. Building Linux platforms, firmware, drivers, and diagnostic tools.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, integrate, debug, and maintain embedded software for mission processing systems
- Develop and support embedded Linux platforms, bootloaders, board support packages, device drivers, and board bring-up
- Develop microcontroller firmware for power control, sequencing, monitoring, communications, and board management
- Develop embedded applications, diagnostic utilities, manufacturing tools, and system test software
- Participate in requirements development, design and code reviews, verification, documentation, and controlled releases
- Collaborate with architects, system engineering, and test engineering teams
Requirements:
- No experience is required; 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Working proficiency in C and C++ for embedded or systems level development
- Knowledge of embedded Linux, BSPs, bootloaders, device drivers, kernel integration, or board bring-up
- Ability to develop microcontroller firmware and interface with board-level peripherals
- Knowledge of source control, build systems, testing, technical documentation, and multidisciplinary engineering practices
- May need to obtain a U.S. Government export license as required by ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws
